Under Eight's Day

Recently, students from Kalamia State School, Jarvisfield State School and C&K Home Hill Community Kindergarten celebrated Under Eight’s Day at Kalamia State School.

Senior students at Kalamia State School worked with adults to organise an enjoyable day for their younger counterparts. Activities included craft, gardening, water, slime and sand play, obstacle courses, playdough, painting and a visit from the Ambulance and Police.

The Under Eight’s activity morning was organised to coincide with Under Eight’s Week which celebrates the rich and competent contribution young children make to the community. The theme for this year’s event was “Everyone can play,” which was highlighted with the creation of a mural titled “Every face has a place” which will now be displayed at Kalamia State School.
