Miss Chappy
Kalamia State School is fortunate to offer a chaplaincy service to its school community. A school chaplain is a safe person for young people to connect with at school, providing a listening ear, caring presence and a message of hope.
The Chaplain provides care for students in a range of matters including relationships, peer pressure, family breakdowns, self-esteem, self awareness, and a host of other issues that might concern young people in our schools today.
Chaplains run positive, fun activities both in and out of school. These activities address a range of topics and foster a supportive, caring school community. Chaplains provide support for at-risk students, support for staff and families in our wider school community, and spiritual support and direction if requested.
These positive relationships help young people to face their concerns, and provide hope, connection, meaning and purpose.
If you would like to access our school chaplain, please the school office. Miss Chappy visits our school on Fridays.
