Established in 1928, Kalamia State School is a multi-aged, co-educational state school situated about 7km from Ayr. Our multi-aged classroom provides quality education for students from Prep to Year 6. Kalamia State School is considered to be a 'high-performing' school as we have, in recent years, consistently maintained student outcomes which are equal to or higher than both State and National means in Literacy and Numeracy.
Our school culture has been defined through our successful long-term projects. Learning occurs in many different contexts at our school. In the classroom students engage in integrated units of study which offer real-life learning experiences. Outside the classroom students are involved with our environmental sustainability and self-sufficiency projects and the annual Arts Gala.
Kalamia State School has a range of diverse and innovative learning pathways through our many extra-curricular activities - Options include Student Council, Environ Club, and lunchtime arts and crafts. Our school enjoys a high level of parent and community engagement in school life. Parents are always welcome in the school and they are encouraged to assist with school programs.
